Cannot get information about you hard

If I try the nvidia raid I get "Cannot get information about you hard disks". If I try the Silicon Image 3114 my drivers get snubbed by vista. -- Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Athlon 64 3000 nForce 4 Maxtor DiamondMax10 4x 1 GB Corsair XMS 4400 nvidia 6800 2x

I wish I had seen that before yesterday otherwise I would not have blown my x64 raid array away. -- Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Athlon 64 3000 nForce 4 Maxtor DiamondMax10 4x 1 GB Corsair XMS 4400 nvidia 6800 2x

I give. That proceedure for raid is just too much trouble to be worth it. I was a beta for xp and x64 and didn't have nearly this much trouble. Maybe on the next build raid support will get better. Upgrade from x64 would be nice to. -- Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Athlon 64 3000 nForce 4 Maxtor DiamondMax10 4x 1 GB Corsair XMS 4400 nvidia 6800 2x

NO!! For Nforce4 and RAID the process is so easy It's really no different than using F6 to install RAID drivers! This is what I did:
I’m using a RAID 0 configuration with a Gigabyte GA-K8N ULTRA. I was able to perform a clean install of Vista using the newest NForce4 drivers (nforce_vistax86beta2) the same method as you would to install F6 drivers:
• Download and extract nforce_vistax86beta2_english.zip from Nvidia and extract • Navigate to IDE/driver/sataraid/ • Add all of these (should be 7) to a floppy disc or equivalent • Navigate to IDE/driver/legacy/ • Add nvatabus.inf, nvcoi.dll, nvide.nvu to the floppy as well • Insert your Vista Beta 2 disc and restart • Vista will go through start up and eventually ask if you want to install additional drivers – just point it to the floppy drive. Drivers should install and your RAID should be accessible.
After
that, Vista installed and ran flawlessly and beautifully! T --------------------------- Gigabyte GA-K8N ULTRA WD Raptor 10K RAID 0 AMD X2 4400 4GB pc3200

Not sure what I did but the "Cannot get info" line changed to actually showing my four disks. I threw in the nvidia driver disk, no changes to it, and loaded the nvidia raid controller. There should be more than one driver loadup, shouldn't there? Anyway, on both x86 and x64, the operating system is missing on the reboot. The clue is that something started wrong was that I highlighted the disk for installation, but there should be an array not just individual HDs. I'll arrange the disk like you described and try it that way. -- Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Athlon 64 3000 nForce 4 Maxtor DiamondMax10 4x 1 GB Corsair XMS 4400 nvidia 6800 2x

You will be asked to choose from two options. Choose the FIRST one, and Vista will actually load everything. If you try to go back and load the second option, the RAID drives disappear again - at least that's what happened to me. If that happens, just restart and start again.
